Just jump into the cool water and start swimming: This is the easiest way to enjoy Lake Zell with its excellent water quality in summer. Of course, the 3,8 kilometer long and up to 1,5 kilometer wide lake is ideal for sailing, water skiing, surfing and kite surfing. Stand-up paddlers have also discovered it as a playground, and even yoga lessons on the stand-up paddling board can be found in the diverse summer weekly program.

Guests can travel on Lake Zell very peacefully by boat, as only rowing, pedal and electric boats are available for rent. If you prefer to be sailed across the lake by an experienced captain, you can take a leisurely panoramic tour from the end of May to the beginning of November on the excursion boat MS Schmittenhöhe or on the nostalgic steamer Libelle from 1947. Things get really romantic on the evening tours in July and August with music and great views of the surrounding mountains.

Of course, there are also celebrations on the shores of Lake Zell in summer: During the “Zeller Seezauber”, a fascinating light and laser show, colorfully illuminated water fountains dance over the lake to changing music on three evenings a week from May 14th to October 15th – a magical spectacle for the eyes and ears. Admission is free. In addition to the evening shows, daytime shows with music and water will take place every day from May 14th between 13:00 p.m. and 18:00 p.m. (on the hour).

Thumersbach lido

The Thumersbach lido on the eastern shore of Lake Zell is the first (bathing) address for sun worshipers: Here you can enjoy the sun for the longest time! In addition to lake access, the lido offers a heated pool, a toddler pool, trampoline and an on-site water ski school.

If you can't get enough of sunbathing, the Thumersbach lido is the right choice for you, because here you can enjoy the sun for the longest time. The necessary cooling is provided by Lake Zell, which is one of the purest bathing lakes in Europe.
